For just the sixth time in Josh Allen’s career, he started a game and did not score a touchdown. This does not include the 2025 Week 18 game, where Allen played one snap to extend his starts streak and the Bills were locked into the No. 2 seed, or the final regular season game in 2019, where Allen just played seven snaps when the Bills were locked into a Wild Card spot.

Here are the six instances, all of which were on the road:

  • 2025 Week 2: 30-10 win over the New York Jets

  • 2024 Week 4: 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens

  • 2021 Week 9: 9-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars

  • 2020 Week 7: 18-10 win over the New York Jets

  • 2018 Week 6: 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans (Allen injured, missed 4th quarter)

  • 2018: Week 4: 22-0 loss to the Green Bay Packers

Josh Allen averages more touchdowns per game than any quarterback in NFL history, so this is an unusual situation that isn’t likely to become a regular thing. What matters most is that the Bills scored 30 points while gaining over 400 yards in a 20-point road win against a divisional opponent.

The Bills are 2-0, with each win coming in a unique way. In Week One, Allen led Buffalo to a come-from-behind victory over the Ravens, where he accounted for over 400 yards and four touchdowns, including 251 passing yards in the 4th quarter. In Week Two, Buffalo ran the ball for 224 yards with three rushing touchdowns in a victory over the Jets that never felt close. Buffalo is once again proving they aren’t game script dependent and can win games in different ways.

Let’s examine how Allen’s pedestrian statistical output in Week Two affected his overall metrics relative to the rest of the league.

Please note that all ranks consider the top 32 quarterbacks in terms of total dropbacks. All numbers, unless otherwise stated, are courtesy of the Fantasy Points Data Suite. Please check out the Data Suite! The metrics offered are exceptional.
