Josh Allen Weekly: 2024 Entering Week Five Edition
Examining Josh Allen's 2024 metrics to asses trends and measure his performance.
Fresh off a historic performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Josh Allen entered Week 4 as the talk of the league and the early favorite to be the NFL MVP. After Sunday Night’s 35-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, in which Allen failed to record a passing or rushing touchdown for the first time in 45 starts, those conversations have cooled.
The Ravens’ game didn’t go as Allen and the Bills hoped, but let’s make one thing abundantly clear; Josh Allen is off to a great start in 2024.
The success of the first three games quickly made many forget that Allen has a new wide receiver corps, is counting on several young players and it’s Joe Brady’s first full season as the offensive coordinator. It was always reasonable to expect some bumps along the way as the unit gains experience together.
Was Allen outstanding against the Ravens? Far from it. But the game's result had far more to do with a deplorable defensive game plan, pass protection issues, drops and play calling.
Let’s examine how Allen’s performance against Baltimore impacted his year-to-date metrics and provide valuable context behind the data.
