Josh Allen Weekly: 2024 Entering Week Three Edition
Examining Josh Allen's 2024 metrics to asses trends and measure his performance.
The Buffalo Bills claimed a 31-10 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week Two, mainly due to a strong defensive effort and three touchdowns from James Cook. While Josh Allen certainly played his part and did so effectively, he wasn’t the leading actor in this story.
And that is perfectly fine. In fact, it’s a good thing.
The Bills showcasing their ability to win games in various ways, including Allen not dragging the team to victory, speaks to the overall potential of the operation. There will be weeks where Allen is the catalyst but this wasn’t one of them.
Allen has a gaudy track record of success against Miami and I applaud him for embracing the necessary role he filled on Thursday night. In Buffalo’s first prime-time game of the season, it would have been easy for Allen to try to put on a show.
Dropping back to pass 20 times, Allen completed 13-of-19 passes for 139 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. He had two carries for two yards on the ground. Despite the modest volume stats, Allen’s EPA per dropback at +.50 was the third-highest of any quarterback in Week Two.
Let’s dive into Allen’s most critical year-to-date metrics and explain how his latest outing impacted the numbers.
