The offseason is upon us, and there’s plenty of excitement about how the Buffalo Bills can acquire new players to improve the roster. Whether it’s free agent signings, trades, or draft selections, the ideas and possibilities for who can be added to make the team better are endless.

With that said, the most meaningful and likely way for the Bills to improve is through the players already on the roster getting better. The Bills have had their share of outside additions that have meant a lot to the team’s success, but the most significant growth and added impact has come from player development.

Over the last several years, we’ve witnessed Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins, Spencer Brown, Matt Milano, James Cook, Christian Benford, Terrel Bernard, and many others elevate their game and provide the team with staying power as a Super Bowl contender.

Which players can take a big step forward in 2025? I’m glad you asked.

I have assessed the ceiling of every player (non-specialist) currently under contract in 2025 who was also under contract in 2024 to find the pathways for Buffalo to improve from within. I have separated them into five categories: players who have hit the ceiling, players who can take a major step, regression candidates, and everything in between. Let’s dig in.
