Buffalo Bills 2025 Salary Cap Outlook | How Aggressive Can Brandon Beane Be?
Analyzing the Buffalo Bills’ salary cap situation entering the 2025 offseason and identifying logical pathways to create space.
The NFL is a limited-resource environment, and spending is restricted by what can fit within the salary cap. However, teams aiming to maximize their ability to put the best possible roster on the field and win games should manipulate the salary cap.
Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has done his share of salary cap manipulation, which will continue this offseason as the team aims to “knock down the door” and get over the hump. After a “soft reset” last offseason, the Bills are in a much more favorable cap position entering 2025. With that said, moves still need to be made for Buffalo to become cap-compliant and create flexibility to add to the roster.
Earlier this week, Dan Graziano reported that the NFL informed clubs that the 2025 per-team salary cap will fall between $277.5 million to $281.5 million, a notable increase from last year’s $255.4 million. As the league grows and adds revenue, the salary cap continues to escalate. Over the last two years, the cap has increased by over $53 million.
As things currently stand, the Bills have $291 million in 2025 cap liabilities, but there are several logical opportunities to create cap space. This post covers how Beane can generate space to make the moves necessary to improve the talent level on the roster and gear up for another run.
It is important to note that while many options are listed below, not all of these moves will or should be made. The intent is to showcase the most logical opportunities available.
